Welcome back North Mor families!
This is a quick update to let you know about what is new and important to know for this school year!
This year, we have several staff changes.
I am pleased to let you know that we now have an assistant principal halftime, Ted Bonnema. Mr. Bonnema is at North Mor on Mondays and Thursdays as well as every other Wednesday.
April Lugo will be our new family liaison. She can help families with resources in the community as well as how to help your child academically. She can be reached at 720-972-3541.
Other New Staff:
Mrs. Anello, Kindergarten teacher
Miss Rayman, 1st grade teacher
Ms. Leenhouts, 5th grade teacher
Mrs. Jackson, Digital Literacy coach
Mrs. McCoy is now our instructional coach
Ms. Keahey is now one of our English as a Second Language Teachers
The staff at North Mor will be recognizing students each month for showing different viking virtues at an assembly to be held on the first Friday of the month. Students who have worked hard on showing the virtue of the month will receive recognition at the assembly, a charm for our virtue necklaces and a certificate. The virtue for August is positive attitude. Teachers will be informing parents if their child will be recognized or if their grade level will be performing at these assemblies. The assembly for positive attitude will be held on September 11, 2015. This new program will replace the Star Student program.
Pick Up and Drop Off
• Please be cautious when picking up and dropping off students- children are everywhere and a distracted driver might not see them. Please do not text or use your phone unless you are parked.
• Do not park in the handicapped parking spaces if you do not have a tag/license plate to do so. We have several families that need those spots. Northglenn police will be called to write tickets for cars that are not properly tagged to park there.
• Do not park in the Hug and Go lanes during morning drop off.
The staff at North Mor is very excited for our new school year and it was wonderful getting to see all of our students again. As always, if you have any questions or need to contact me, please do not hesitate to call (720-972-5540).
