5th Grade is continuing our work with fractions and operations with fractions. These videos are great resources!
Literacy and more:
5th Grade is investigating both fictional chapter books and informational resources on British American Colonies as we finish describing the influence the point of view has on events in a story and begin exploring theme. Mr. Alvarez's class is reading Bud, Not Buddy while Ms. Brounstein's class is reading Esperanza Rising, and Ms. Garlick's class is reading I am Malala.
The following is a great list of questions you can ask your child after reading:
In Writing, we are writing an opinion piece. Ask your student what they will be writing about.
In Science, we are learning about human body systems and how they work together to keep us healthy.
