The State of Colorado has specific laws for student attendance that Adams 12 School District and North Mor Elementary school are required to follow. We want to take this opportunity to let you know how important, and how very seriously, we take student attendance here at North Mor. While you are encouraged to read the Attendance Policies and Procedures in the the North Mor Elementary 2016-2017 Student/Parent Handbook, as well as refer to Adams 12 Superintendent Policy 5020 regarding attendance (all policies are available online), all parents should have a clear understanding of the main highlights of our student attendance procedures:
We are here to help support our North Mor families. Please contact us.
North Mor’s school day runs from 7:35 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Wednesday students have early release at 1:15 p.m.)
A student is marked tardy when they enter or leave class within 10 minutes of the scheduled start or end time. [A student will be marked tardy if they report to class between 7:45 a.m. and 7:54 a.m.]
A student is marked as partial absence when they enter or leave class 10 minutes or more from the scheduled start or end time. [A student will receive a partial absence if they report to class at 7:55 a.m. or later, or leave before 2:20 pm.]
Too many absences or tardies may result in parent and student conferences, attendance contracts, or referral to the District for more official intervention or legal action.
A student that has four (4) unexcused absences in one month or ten (10) unexcused absences in a calendar year is considered habitually truant, and the school may contact the District Truancy Court and/or a social service agency for further help.
It is very important that students are on-time and ready to learn each and every day. Thank you for helping us to help your children!
