Good Afternoon North Mor Families and Friends, 

I hope this message finds you doing well.  We have entered the final quarter of the school year and it’s exciting to see the growth that has taken place and to celebrate the successes we have had so far this school year.  We look forward to what lies ahead for the next couple months of learning!

 

SAFETY message:

In light of recent events that have taken place across the country, I want to remind you of a couple of important guidelines that we can all follow in an effort to continue to maintain the highest levels of safety at North Mor.  

• If you have a specific safety concern or an emergency that needs immediate attention, please dial 911 or contact the Northglenn Police Department.

• If you or your child receive information about a potential risk or safety concern, Safe 2 Tell is an anonymous tip line that can be used by both students, families and community members.  Safe 2 Tell can be accessed online at safe2tell.org/.  

• ALL individuals, whether regular and familiar or new visitors to the building, must come through the front office and submit a valid state ID to either pick up students or gain access to the building.  

• If you see something, say something!  We are all here to support student safety and so if you have questions or concerns that arise, please reach out directly to me. 

 

CMAS INFORMATION:

Our 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade Vikings will begin the Colorado Measure of Academic Standards (CMAS) on Tuesday, April 4th.  All students will take the English Language Arts (ELA) and Math assessments; 5th graders will also take the CMAS Science assessment.   With testing, there are some slight adjustments to students' daily schedules, specifically, in regard to the times they attend specials and the content that will be taught for the day. 

 

Although testing does not begin right at 8:05, it is imperative that your child is here on time and remains for the full testing time. If students arrive late after the testing session has begun, students will not be admitted into their classrooms for testing.

 

We appreciate your support and partnership in ensuring our students are able to successfully demonstrate their learning and abilities through CMAS testing. 

 

Testing for students will take place on the following dates and times:

ELA -  April 4th, 6th and 7th   3rd grade 8:20 - 10:20 am 4th grade - 8:40 -10:40 am 5th grade - 9:20 - 11:20 am	MATH - April 11th, 13th and 14th   3rd grade - 10:20 - 11:50 am 4th grade - 9:20 -10:50 am 5th grade - 8:15 - 9:45 am	SCIENCE - April 11th, 13th and 14th   5th grade - 12:50 - 2:30 pm

 

SCHOOL traffic- pick up and drop off:

We are asking for your cooperation with morning drop off and afternoon pick up for students:

• Please do not park in the “hug and go” lane in the front of the building - this jams up the traffic flow and makes it dangerous for students who are being dropped off. 

• Please model and encourage students to use the crosswalks when coming and going; we have staff available to help at these designated areas. 

• In the kindergarten hug and go area, please do not park in the ride lane - this lane is intended to be a fast moving pick up lane.  

 

Adams 12 District Calendar:

As you may already be aware, Adams 12 have adopted a new calendar for the 2023-2023 school year.  Please visit the district website @ https://www.adams12.org/our-district/calendar/new-adopted-calendar for more specific information.

• April 4 - 5:30-6 - 1st grade and Viking Singers Performance

• April 4 - CMAS testing begins for all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students

  • April 4, 6 and 7 - English Language Arts CMAS testing

  • April 11, 13 and 14 - Math CMAS testing

  • April 11, 13 and 14 - Science CMAS testing (5th grade only!)

• April 5 - Attendance “Golden Ticket” parties for selected students

• April 5-  5:00 - 6:00 - Kindergarten Open House for all incoming kindergarten students!

• April 26-5:00 - 6:00 pm-  5th grade Parent informational meeting regarding “Healthy Choices, Healthy Bodies” (more information coming soon!)

 

Looking ahead…

• May 5th - Assessment Day for all kindergarten through 5th grade students

• May 11, 5:30 - 7 pm - Celebration of Learning

• May 12 - NO school for students

• May 19 - Field Day

• May 25 - Last day of school for all students

Espero que este mensaje te encuentre bien. Hemos entrado en el último trimestre del año escolar y es emocionante ver el crecimiento que ha tenido lugar y celebrar los éxitos que hemos tenido hasta ahora este año escolar. ¡Esperamos con ansias lo que nos espera en los próximos dos meses de aprendizaje!

 

Mensaje de SEGURIDAD:

A la luz de los eventos recientes que han tenido lugar en todo el país, quiero recordarles un par de pautas importantes que todos podemos seguir en un esfuerzo por continuar manteniendo los más altos niveles de seguridad en North Mor.

• Si tiene un problema de seguridad específico o una emergencia que requiere atención inmediata, llame al 911 o comuníquese con el Departamento de Policía de Northglenn.

• Si usted o su hijo reciben información sobre un riesgo potencial o un problema de seguridad, Safe 2 Tell es una línea de información anónima que pueden usar tanto los estudiantes, las familias y los miembros de la comunidad. Se puede acceder a Safe 2 Tell en línea en safe2tell.org/.

• TODAS las personas, ya sean visitantes habituales y familiares o visitantes nuevos del edificio, deben pasar por la oficina principal y presentar una identificación válida para recoger a los estudiantes o entrar al edificio.

INFORMACIÓN DE CMAS:

Nuestros vikingos de 3.°, 4.° y 5.° grado comenzarán la Medida de Estándares Académicos de Colorado (CMAS) el Martes 4 de Abril. Todos los estudiantes tomarán las evaluaciones de Artes de Lenguaje de Inglés (ELA) y Matemáticas; Los estudiantes de 5to grado también tomarán la evaluación de Ciencias CMAS. Con las pruebas, hay algunos ajustes leves en los horarios diarios de los estudiantes, específicamente, con respecto a los horarios en que asisten a los especiales y el contenido que se enseñará durante el día.

 

Aunque las pruebas no comienzan justo a las 8:05, es imperativo que su hijo esté aquí a tiempo y permanezca durante todo el tiempo de la prueba. Si los estudiantes llegan tarde después de que haya comenzado la sesión de prueba, los estudiantes no serán admitidos en sus salones de clase para la prueba.

Tránsito ESCOLAR- recoger y dejar:

Le pedimos su cooperación para dejar a los estudiantes en la mañana y recogerlos en la tarde:

• Por favor, no se estacione en el carril de "abrazo y irse" en el frente del edificio; esto atasca el flujo de tráfico y lo hace peligroso para los estudiantes que están dejando. 

• Por favor modele y anime a los estudiantes a usar los cruces peatonales al ir y venir; tenemos personal disponible para ayudar en estas áreas designadas.

• En el área de kínder, no se estacione en el carril de paseo; este carril está destinado a ser un carril de recogida de movimiento rápido.

 

Calendario del Distrito Adams 12:

Como ya sabrá, Adams 12 ha adoptado un nuevo calendario para el año escolar 2023-2023. Visite el sitio web del distrito en https://www.adams12.org/our-district/calendar/new-adopted-calendar para obtener información más específica.

• Abril 5 - Fiesta de Asistencia “Boleto dorado” para alumnos seleccionados

• Abril 5-  5:00 - 6:00 - ¡Casa Bienvenida de Kinder para todos los estudiantes de Kinder nuevos!

• Abril 26-5:00 - 6:00 pm-  Reunión informativa para padres de 5to grado sobre "Opciones saludables, cuerpos saludables" (¡más información próximamente!)

 

Mirando hacia el futuro…

• 5 de Mayo: día de evaluación para todos los estudiantes de Kinder a quinto grado

• Mayo 11, 5:30 - 7 pm - Celebración de aprendizaje

• Mayo 12 - NO hay escuela para estudiantes

• Mayo 19 -Dia de campo

• Mayo 25 - Último día de clases para todos los estudiantes.

  • Continuación de Kinder- 8:30-9:15 am

  • Continuación de 5to Grado- 10 - 11 am
