I am originally from Texas, but I moved to Colorado in 1997 while I was in high school. I graduated from CU Boulder in 2003 with a degree in Accounting, then went back to school in 2008 to become a teacher. I taught 1st grade for 5 years before I joined the English Language Learning department in Adams 12. I came back into the classroom in 2017 to become a 3rd grade teacher.
I have 2 younger brothers who are both in the military and live out of state. I was married in September, 2018 to my favorite person in the world, Mr. Miguel. We have one dog named Louise and we often foster other dogs while they are waiting to be adopted.
My favorite subject is math and I love solving difficult problems. I love watching students work through challenges and feel the pride of sticking with difficult tasks.
When I am not at work, I love to be in the mountains. I hike, bike, or climb most days of the week and I love exploring all over Colorado. I also have traveled to about 25 different countries and I expect to travel to many more!
I am looking forward to this coming year and can't wait to meet everyone!
